  • The Deceleration of Independence

    The Deceleration of Independence
    On this day, 56 men signed a paper. This was the paper that declared the colonies independent from Great Britain.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    On April 30th, 1803, President Thomas Jefferson made the Louisiana Purchase. It costed about $15 million which was equal to three cents per acre. This purchase doubled the size of the country and gave America control over the Mississippi.
  • Lewis and Clark Journey West

    Lewis and Clark explored the Louisiana purchase. They discovered 300 new plant and animal species. They also mapped out a route to the Pacific Ocean. Lewis and Clark befriended Native Americans as well.
  • The Texas War for Independence

    On this day, a battle took place. This battle became a war. The war was between the Texans and the Mexicans. Texans wanted to become independent from Mexico, so a war had begun. In the end, Texas declared victory.
  • The California Gold Rush

    A man discovered gold, which was worth a lot of money, causing a gold rush to California. In the next year 1849, many people moved west in search of gold. Gold was money and when it was discovered, everyone wanted it.

    Attack on Fort Sumter
    This is the day the the confederates attacked Fort Sumter. That attack is what started the Civil War.

    The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
    On this day, Abraham Lincoln (16th president of the United States) was assassinated. Abe Lincoln was the first president to be assassinated, many people were upset about the news of his death. Lincoln helped the union win the civil war, and he ended slavery.
  • The Supreme Case: Brown v the Board of Education

    The Supreme Case: Brown v the Board of Education
    A seven year old girl named Linda Brown was unable to go to a school that she lived nearby. Her father and the NAACP sued so Linda could go to a school closer to home. This led to integrated public schools.

    On this day, Don and Kathy Esh got married. My family would not be my family if they hadn't gotten married. That s why this was a very important day.

    On 4/4/98, my oldest sister was born. She is important to me because she helped me grow up. I look up to her because I am short and she is tall.

    This is the day that two planes crashed into the Twin Tower Buildings. A plane also crashed into the pentagon. This day is an important event, because three famous building were destroyed. Plus, several thousand people died.

  • Two-week Road Trip

    Two-week Road Trip
    On this day, my family and I left for a two-week road trip across the country. On our trip, we traveled for many hours in a car. One place we went to was Mt. Rushmore, it was cool to learn about the history behind it. We also went to many National Parks, and did a lot of touring. We also got to go zip lining in Montana (that's what the picture is from).
