    December 14th is the day that George Washington died. The cause of his death was a throat infection called epiglottis. George Washington was the first president of the United States, which makes this date more important.

    April 30th, 1803 was the day that Thomas Jefferson bought Louisiana from the French. This buy also included the Mississippi and Missouri rivers.

    When Thomas Jefferson bought Louisiana from the French, he needed someone to explore it. So, this day in history was the day that a small group of men lead by Lewis and Clark set out to explore their new land.

    The Supreme Case: Brown vs. The Board of Education
    In the 1950s there were five cases of segregation at school, and they all came under the name of the Brown v. Board of Education. On May 17, 1954 the Supreme court ruled on Brown v. Board of Education. They ruled that segregation in schools and other public facilities was illegal.

    This was the day that Harambe, the endangered Silverback lowland gorilla, was born. Nobody knew that in seventeen years, he was going to be shot for trying to (in theory) protect a 3-year old boy, and cause a social riot.
  • 9/11

    September 11, 2001 is the day that the terrorist group al Qaeda hijacked four planes. They flew them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. This changed everything, from how we think and act to what we say. The United States realized that it wasn't as safe as it thought it was.

    This is the day that Brooklyn Dawson was born.
  • Harambe Dies

    Harambe Dies
    On May, 28 2016, a boy climbed into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo. Harambe grabbed and dragged the young boy, and for fear that the boy was going to be hurt, Harambe was shot. This caused a social riot. Everybody blamed the death upon the boy's mother, saying that she should've been watching more carefully and that Harambe (who was an endangered type of gorilla) shouldn't have been shot. Since then many people (and many memes) have come up to try to prevent this happening again.
