    Eli Whitney and the Cotton Gin
    The cotton that was found in the south was hard to clean. In 1793 Eli Whitney created a machine that cleaned cotton. 50 pounds of cotton could be cleaned a day. This helped the south on a very different of economic development than the north.

    The Declaration of Independence is the founding document of the American political tradition. It articulates the fundamental ideas that form the American nation: All men are created free and equal and possess the same inherent, natural rights.

    People started to settle in texas as there home. Steven F. Austin was trying to make texxas a self govered state within Mexico. Austing brought a list of reforms to Mexico for texas. Santa Anna agreed to mast of the reforms. Santa anna saw a rebellion of texans because they were not going by mexican rule this was rebellion. The war began. Santa anna threw Austin in jail for a year. It was the fight at the alamo texans v. mexico.

    A mexican unit crossed Rio Grande and ambushed an American patrol. Congress had declared war the war with mexico had begun. American troops had to occupy New mexico. The troops took New Mexico without firing a shot. There next lob was to take california.
