    declaration of independence. They needed a document to
    declare why the colonies had to become independent of

  • Louisiana Purchase

    President Jefferson asked France's leader Napoleon if he could buy the New Orleans from France, but then Napoleon offered to sell all of Louisiana to the Unitied States. A shocked Jefferson agreed and the United States doubled in size and took over the Louisiana Territory and now has control over the Mississipi River (McDougal-Little1,295).
  • The Lewis and Clark Journey West

    Lewis and Clark were hired by President Jefferson to explore the Louisiana Territory after they had purchased it from The French. They met the Native Americans who helped them out in their journey and was accomplied by Sacagawea. Who helped them through out the journey. They found new information for the European Science. They finished their journey succesfully and brought all the information back home (McDougal-Little1,295).
  • The Texas Revolution

    Texas is the only state in the Union that was once an independent republic, a status it gained as a result of the war between Mexico and American settlers.
    After gaining independence from Spain, the newly formed government of Mexico encouraged Americans to settle the sparsely populated region of Texas. However, language and religious differences, along with a rebellious nature toward the Mexican government on the part of the settlers, created a hostile situation (military.com).
  • The Donner Party

    A group of people from Springfield, Illinois made a 2500 mile journey to California. They took a short cut that was supossed to take off mile which just added miles. They got caught in a snow storm and ate all their food, most died of starvation and turned to cannibalism (legendsofamerica.com).
  • The Mexican American War

    A Mexican unit crossed the Rio Grande and ambushed an American patrol. Polk sent a rousing was message to congress saying "Mexico has invaded our territory and shed American blood upon the American soil." Two days later Congress delacred war. The United States received the disputed Texan territory, as well as New Mexico territory and California. The Mexican government was paid $15 million. The United States Army won a grand victory.   • The California Gold Rush

    A month after Mexico lost California to the United States, James Marshall, a carpenter, was building a sawmill when he saw a shiny stine in the dirt. He hoped that I'd be gold and it was. This discovery led to one of the gratest migrations. Thousands from all over the world left their home and went to California to find riches (McDougal-Little1,295).
  • The Attack on Fort Sumter

    The Attack on Fort Sumter
    General P.G.T. Beauregard, in command of the Confederate forces around Charleston Harbor, opened fire on the Union garrison holding Fort Sumter. At 2:30pm on April 13 Major Robert Anderson, garrison commander, surrendered the fort and was evacuated the next day. (civilwar.org)
  • The Supreme Case: Brown v The Board of Education

    The Supreme Case: Brown v The Board of Education
    In Kansas, The Topeka High School integrated, but the Topeka Elementary wasn't. 11cases challenging this was filed but failed. So one more case was filed and it was The Brown case. A third grader Linda Brown had to walk a mile day to atend school. There was 18 neighborhood schools for whites but 4 for blacks. This 12th case made a difference and the schools were intgrated.   • The death of Elvis Presley

    The death of Elvis Presley
    In the bathroom of his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. He was 42 at the time of death. He had been on the toilet, but fallen off onto the floor, where he lay in a pool of his own vomit. Panicked his staff contacted an ambulance, which rushed him to nearby Baptist Memorial Hospital, where, after several attempts to revive him, he died at 3:30 pm CST. His autopsy was performed at 7:00 pm. The official coroner's report lists "cardiac arrhythmia" as the cause of Presley's death. (about.com)

    On this date the Twin Towers were attacked. 4 airliners carried out this suicide mission. Over 3,00 people were killed during this attack. Two of the planes hit into the World Trade Center, the third at the Pentagon and the final in a field in Pennsylvania. (History.com)
  • One Direction The Becoming

    One Direction The Becoming
    It was at boot camp on UK X-Factor. All five aduition as solo artist. Until they got told they weren't advancing. So Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh dicided to put them all in a boy band. They came in third place, but they won over the world. They released 3 albums and are working on their fourth. They've had three worldwide tours. 5 Seconds Of Summer acompied them for the last two tours (My Brain).
  • 5 Seconds Of Summer completed

    5 Seconds Of Summer completed
    A small garage band from was uploading videos of them singing onto YouTube. First it was Luke Hemmings Adding solo videos, then Michael Clifford joinded forces adding a second guitar plus voclist. Later on their friend Calum Hood became the bassist plus his voice. They figured that they needed a drummer and then Ashton Irwin was the last one to complete them (My Brain).
