    The Louisiana Purchase was a deal made by Napolean (the leader of France at the time). Jefferson approved the purchase for $15 million (about 3 cents per acre).     Jefferson chose a oung officer, Captain Meriwether Lewis, to lead the expedition of the Louisiana Territory. He asked Clark if he would join him in leading the crew. Clark was a mapmaker and outdoorsman. They set out from St. Louis and began their expedition. Their goal was to make an accurate map and learn info. about animal and plant species.Also, they were supposed to find the Northwest Pass and be friendly to the Native Americans.     The Texas War for Independence/The Alamo
    The actions of the Mexican Government caused protest and many texan talked about breaking away from Mexico. In December, Texans drove Mexicn troops out of a fortress, called the Alamo. Troops from both sides fought and fought, until the Texans were defeated, due to ammo loss and the amount of enemys. A couple days later, all but seven texans died and more than 1,000 Mexicans died.     The U.S. gained Texas from Mexico and would like the Oregon Territory, California, New Mexico, and the today Southwest. First, President James K. Polk offered to purchase, but was rejected. Instead he moved troops in, and Mexico counter attacked. Then, a couple days later Congress declared war. After many battles, Mexico resigned and made a treaty with America. Mexico also sold California and territory north of Rio Grande. (History.com)

    The discovery of gold in California was a huge part of American History. James Wilson Marshall was building a sawmill when he found flakes of gold. News spread and by August there were 4,000 miners. Mnay people just kept migrating to make a fortune of their lives. 1850 came along and all the surfae gold was gone. The Gold rush ended.     President John F. Kennedy's assassination
    JFK was riding in a motercade in Dallas. The car turned off of Main Street at Dealey Plaza. The streets were filled with excited people. As the car was passing Texas School Depository, gunfire suddenly rattled through the plaza. Bullets struck the president but, couldn't be recovered at the hospital.     Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin step out of the Eagle, Armstrong steps off the ladder and placed the first steps on the moon. Both astronauts plant an Amerian flag on the surface. They gather rocks for experiments. After less than a day on the moon, Armstrong and Aldrin meet with Collins in the Command Module. This day was important to all of America because, we accomplished a mission that was steps ahead for Russia.

    The 2 Amendment was adopted
    The 2nd amendment was adopted, along with 9 others. They are considered the first 10 amendments. The 2nd amendment is the right to bear arms. This amendment restricts legislative bodies from prohibiting firearm possession. With this amendment, citizens would not be able to hunt or have home defence.
