    The Declaration of independence is probably the most cared for symbol of liberty to our nation. The reason that it is improtant is that the declaration of independence is a document that set America from Britians control.

    The Lewis and Clark Journey west
    The Lewis and Clark journey was when Thomas Jefferson chose Captain Meriwether Lewis and Lewis asked Lieutenant William Clark to go out and explore the Louisiana territory. Jefferson wanted those two to explore the missouri river, establish good relations with native americans and describe the landscape, plants, and animals. The reason this is important to amercian history is so we knew what was in the Louisiana territory

    The Louisiana Purchase was a land deal between the United States and France. The U.S aquirred around 827,000 square miles of land, west of the Mississippi river for 15 million dollars. The reason why this is important to U.S history is because when we got the land the U.S doubled in size.

    The Texas war for Independence is the war between the texans and the Mexicans to give Texas to the U.S. The texans of Texas talked about breaking away from Mexico, and then KABOOM war started between the texans and the Mexicans.

    General Zachary Taylor was ordered to station 3,500 troops to the bank of the Rio Grande which was part of the dispiuted territroy. Then a mexican unit ambushed the American Patrol . Two days after that happened Congress declared war. In the month of May 1846 General Zachary Taylor led the troops into Mexico. Not long after the war started General Stephen Karny left Kansas with order to go get New Mexico and without a shot fired he got the state.and then got california.

    On January 24th of 1848 just before Mexico lost California to the United States James Marshall mad an important discovery. James was building a sawmill in northern California and found a shiny stone in a nearby American river. Marshall's discorvery led to one os the greatest migrations, it moved people from one country or locality to another. (Mcdougal -littell)

    The ruling in Brown v B oard of education led to integrated public schools. It also opened the door to other sucessful challenges to segregation in pubic places

    On March 2 1962 Wilt Chamberlain and the Philadelphia Warriors played the New york Knicks and on that day Wilt scores 100 points in one game and now has the most points ever scored in a nba game.

  • T-Mac scores 13 points in 33 seconds

    On December 9th Tracy Mcgrady and the Houston Rockets were playing the San Antonio Spurs. In the final 33 seconds of the game, the Rockets were down.T-Mac dribbles up the court and makes a 3 pointer while getting fouled, he would make the freethrow to complete the 4 point play. Then T-Mac steals the ball pulls up for 2 back to back 3 pointers in the same spot. In the last seconds Tracy Mcgrady dribbles down the and shoots a buzzer beating 3 to win the game.
