James cook (7 November 1728 – 14 February 1779) also known as Captain Cook was a British explorer, cartographer and navigator. He is well know because he was the first person to get to Australia and clam it their land. Two days later the French came so it was good timing. In 1770 Cook arrived by boat in Botany Bay, Sydney.

America fought agents Britten to stop them sending convicts to them, and on this day they won. and with a loss of a place to put the convicts the British had to find a new place.

because of the industrial revolution there were lots of factories in Britten which lead to pollution. the lack of housing with the pollution lead to sickness. an because of the low paying jobs everyone was pore except the people how owned the factories. all of the pore people started to rob because they had no food and they had no choice. from robbing more and more people became convicts. and with lots of convicts you had to put them somewhere so the jails where getting extremely full

when they got to Sydney cove the aboriginals thought they where birds because they where wearing brightly coloured clothes.

they went to port Jackson because the soul in botany bay was bad for growing crops which lead onto not having enough food.

Australia’s first bank was established in 1817, as the Bank of New South Wales. In 1982 the name was then change to the bank we know today, Westpac Banking Corporation. Westpac helped to shape all banking in Australia.

In 1817, the Governor of New South Wales, Lachlan Macquarie recommended that new Holland should change it’s name to Australia. However, in 1824, New Holland was officially changed to Australia. Australia was the name that Matthew Flinders used to call NSW.
