-
Henry VIII was born in Greenwich.
-
Henry married the widow of his dead brother just before his crowning.
-
Henry began rule in April but was officially crowned king in June.
-
After 24 years of marriage to his first wife, Henry became infatuated with one of her ladies in waiting. After finding a way to dissolve that marriage, he married Anne in 1533.
-
Henry had Anne arrested and executed for adultery and treason after only three years. He played tennis during her beheading.
-
Henry married Jane not even a month after Anne had been beheaded.
-
Jane Seymour died only two weeks after she had given birth to Hery's first (living) legitimate son, Edward.
-
Two years after Jane's death, Henry was put into an arranged marriage of sorts to build relations with Cleves.
-
Turns out Anne of Cleves wasn't the match made in heaven Henry hoped for and the marriage was dissolved.
-
Henry was once again to marry a lady in waiting and this time is was 19 year old Katherine.
-
Katherine Howard appeard to be a little too young for Henry and wasn't completly into a fat, aging king. So of course she was beheaded for adultery when flirting with those who were more... appealing.
-
The sixth and final wife of Henry's was the educated Katherine Parr, who was named after Henry's first wife. Full circle.
-
After six wifes and the last half of his life wracked with illnesses like gout, Henry finally died at the age of 56. Katherine Parr was his last wife and managed to survive the marriage long enough to outlive him.
-
Although Katherine Parr outlive Henry himself, she didn't get much down time, only living more than a year after.
