Henry decided that it was time to divorce Katheraine but the church wouldn't let him. Since Katheraine couldn't bear a male heir to the throne Henry also wanted to get a new wife so he could have a male heir. The church refused his request for a divorce and so Henry took it into his own hands and broke off from the church and created the Church of England. He then went through six wives and through misscarages and daughters he only recieved one son who died at 16

Catherine of AragonKing Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon on the 11fo June of 1509 at the Francican Church at Greenwich. Shortly after marriage Catherine was pregant to a stillborn daughter. On February 1516 she gave birth do a daughter named Mary, In 1533 their marriage was separated because of Henry's anger to not have an heir to the throne.
