    The atomic bomb was first used. It was dropped on one of Japan's cities; Hiroshima. The bomb was dropped by, a planed name ENOLA GAY. The bomb was called LITTLE BOY.
    Significance: The first dropping of the atomic bomb killed many japanese. Therefore it showed the world that it was very powerfull. Then other countries also started developing atomic bombs. On of the reasons countries are afraid of starting a World War 3 is because they know that it could destroy most of the world.

    The United Nations (UN) was founded on this day. 29 nations had agreed on the UN charter, on this day to make the UN exist. The UN is an organization that promotes peace all around the world.
    Signigicance: The UN has saved many lives in the years they have been around. The UN is very helpful to 3rd world countries in time of conflict. Also the UN was created to prevent more wars from happening, which is very benificial.

    Pakistan gained independence from India. The reason for seperating from India was, that muslims wanted to have thier own country, where they can make thier own laws, according to the muslim religion.
    Significance: A new country was formed, which now has some impact on the world.
    After pakistan was born my grandparents, from both my mothers and fathers side, left India to come to Pakistan. So, that is why I was born and raised up in Pakistan.

    Signigicance: With the Inuits having thier right to vote, shows that Inuits are getting thier basic human rights taken care of. It also shows that Canada is taking care of those rights.

    On this day a report was shown to the public suggesting that cigarettes have a negative affect on the human body. The reasearch was done in New York.
    Significance: Now that people know that cigarettes are not healthy, they will stop smoking them. This will result in less people getting cancer, and less people dying.

    Significance: It showed that Canada was getting more civil, and valueing human rights, since they wont be killing people for thier crimes, but instead they will give more civil punishments.

    Quebec wanted to seperate from the rest of Canada, and become its own country. However when the referendum took place, the results were; 60% against and 40% for. Therefore it did not pass.
    Significance: It showed that Quebec 40% of quebecker did not want to be part of Canada. Also, it showed that Canada was still sort of a split country, of french and english people.

    My fathar gained admission into pharmacy field in the University of Karachi in Pakistan.
    Significance: Since my dad got this education, we were able to move to Canada.

    Sandra Day O'Connor was appointed the first woment to the US supreme court. September 21 the US senate confirmed that O'Conner got a vote of 99% in favor and 0% against.
    Significance: This showed that women were equal to men. Also the vote in the US senate shows that men dont have a problem with women being thier natural equals.
