  • Henry Parkes

    On the 24th of October Sir Henry Parkes urged the colonies to federate. He made a speech at Tenterfield in which he urged all colonial governments to unite and create a National Government for Australia.

    Australasian Federation Conference

    The 13 representatives of the colonial governments and New Zealand acknowledged Australia's growing population, the wealth and the self-governing amount since the 1883 convention.

    First Constitutional Convention - NO EXACT DATE

    7 important representatives from each of the colonies and 3 delegates from New Zealand agreed to have the name 'Commonwealth of Australia' and drafted constitution.
  • Edmund Barton made a missionary visit to Riverina

    Edmund Barton went on a missionary visit to the Riverina in New South Wales. As an end result 15 of the Federation Leagues/groups were joined together in the Riverina group of communities.
  • Australiasain Federation League

    The Australiasian Federation League (Australian Football League) came and formed together as a AFL league in Sydney.
  • Premiers Conference

    NO EXACT DATE-
    A special Premiers meeting agreed to hold a new Federation Convention. All the people from the Premiers Conference all came together to understand more about Federation and because they wanted to hold a new Federation Convention.

    NO EXACT DATE- AFL of Victoria have a big meeting about Federation at the Town Hall of Melbourne, and this was addressed by the premiers of Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.

    A second meeting was held in Bathurst, and New South Wales called for another Federation Convention.
  • Elections for Convention

    The Elections for the second Convention was held in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. The Election for the convention delegates was held in Victoria and Tasmania. (Only for the delegates)

    VOTE
    YES 'vote' for the draft for constitution in Victoria and Tasmania. In each of the colonies Aboriginal men could vote. Not women but just men could vote from each of the colonies.
  • Secret Meeting

    NO EXACT DATE-
    In January the premiers had a secret meeting and agreed to several changes to the constitution. The premiers probably didn't want the changes others wanted but so they maybe changed because they didn't want it.
