My Grandmother had been the youngest child in her family after the great depression. She had 8 sisters and 3 brothers that were alive, and she had two brothers who had already passed away. Fred, the first born, passed away a year after birth and Robert passed away at age 7.

After the Pearl Harbor bombings two of my grandmothers brothers were drafted and two of her sisters joined the navy. One of her sisters was a secretary official in Washington, and the other was a nurse who served at different bases.

During the war an activity kids did was they would collect news papers. They would then bring the newspapers to the school hall to sell. This is a picture of a certificate my Grandfather received for collecting the most newspapers.

My Grandparents were happily married for 62 years. They had three daughters and three sons together, and a total of 10 grandchildren.

All 12 siblings were at Dan's wedding, which included my grandmother and her eight sisters and then her three brothers.

This photo was taken at a family gathering which included some of her sisters and brothers along with her sister and brother in-laws. This took place at my Grandparents cape house in Harwich Ma.

This picture was taken at my uncles wedding. Missing from the photo were two of my grandmothers sisters who had passed away. Also another brother and sister couldn't attend. The only people living in this photo today are my grandmother and her sister in-law.
