Graham ISD 2020

  • School Hours Change

The district modifies the school calender to prepare for the future of Student Pace learning at the K-5 campuses. The school year is extended along with the length of the day. This adjustment will mean more time for instruction, independent research, and deeper understanding of the core curriculum.
  • Vision 2020

What will our district look like by 2020?
  • Student Paced Learning

Studnet Paced LearningStudents in K-5 are no longer in grade levels. They are in learning pods based upon their grasp of the curriculum presented. Students learn in groups at their own pace. The use of technology, teacher/student led teacing/learing are beginning to provide students the ability to learn at an accelerated pace for most. Others are allowed to truely learn the foundations at their pace without the stigma of "passing a grade level".
  • Student Paced Learning

The entire student body of GISD is learning at their own pace. Because of this trend students have gained a deeper knowledge and understanding of all content areas. More over they have begun to assimilate this knowlege via cross curricular activities through learning pods. They are beginning to tackle the larger questions in each of these fields rather than just "learning" it.
  • School Success

100% of GISD Student pass the state assessments and graduate from GHS. Every graduate leaves with a plan to attend either the military, a trade schools, start their own buisness, work in a mentorship program that will lead to a high paying job, or secondary educational opportunities
