    Brandon Opalka
    Ever since Brandon Opalka moved to Miami in 1996, he has been painting around the Wynwood area, and had the chance to paint on the actual Wynwood Walls in the beginning ("Brandon Opalka"). He stated, "when I did graffiti I would do different backgrounds, and trees were always something that I found myself painting" ("Brandon Opalka").

    Aiko
    "Aiko arrived in Wynwood in 2009 with a special tube containing the large-scale hand-cut stencils that she had spent days preparing in her studio" ("Aiko").
  • Wynwood Beginning

    Wynwood Beginning
    The Wynwood Walls were opened in 2009, by Tony Goldman ("About Wynwood Walls"). The purpose of the walls is to give artists the opportunity to display their work on the warehouse buildings in Miami, Florida.

    B., from Athens,Greece, understands the potential in Wynwood to continue thriving in the art world. "Also trained as an architect, b. finds the Wynwood Walls space particularly interesting because it has a number of uses or functions—as a gallery, a bar, a restaurant, a pedestrian area—in an open space" ("B.").

    Avaf
    Avaf became part of the Wynwood Walls in 2010. "The somewhat disorienting impact of the vibrant and fragmented images is just what the artists Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide-Pierson are aiming for" (Avaf).
  • Vhils

    Vhils
    Originally from Portugal, Alexandre Farto left his mark on the Wynwood Doors in 2011. Farto states, "I try focusing on the act of destruction to create..." ("Vhils").
  • RETNA

    RETNA
    "RETNA was honored to join the Wynwood Walls in 2011 as he sees Tony Goldman's project as an integral part of the community that brings world-renowned artists and an art audience to the Wynwood center" ("RETNA"). His work is still up today on the Wynwood Walls.
  • Kenny Scharf

    Kenny Scharf
    Kenny Scharf, a New York artist, first painted his work in 2011. "Like a giant graffiti tag or throw-up, the piece reflects the impulse and speed of the artist working in the street, and his popular cartoon-like characters are instantly recognizable" ("Kenny Scharf").
  • DAZE

    DAZE
    "Daze[, also known as Chris Ellis,] has contributed two murals to the Wynwood Walls including one inside the Wynwood Doors ("Daze").
  • Shepard Fairey

    Shepard Fairey
    On September 11th, 2012, Tony Goldman, the founder of the Wynwood Walls passed. Shepard Fairey, best known for the Obey work, created a mural of the late Goldman. Fairey surrounded him with people who inspired Goldman ("First Look at Miami 2012: Walls, Street Art, Action!").

    Ryan McGinness
    In 2013, the work of Ryan McGinness, a Virginia Beach artist, was on display at Wynwood. He stated that "these drawings are [his] version of what is sexy" ("Ryan McGinness").
  • Aiko

    Aiko
    The Japanese artist, "...Aiko, updated her mural inside the Wynwood Walls as part of the Women on the Walls Project" ("Aiko").
  • Lady Pink

    Lady Pink
    "Lady Pink was born in Ecuador, but raised in NYC. In 1979 she started writing graffiti and soon was well known as the only female capable of competing with the boys in the graffiti subculture" ("Lady Pink").
  • Case

    Case
    Case, a German artist, is famous for his art featuring hands." For Wynwood Walls' 2014 program...Case was tapped to paint both a mural outside the walls and one for the Wynwood Doors, both of which feature his iconic hands" ("Case").
  • Maya Hayuk

    Maya Hayuk
