    Battle of Tippecanoe
    William Henry Harrison led his troops to the Indians that refused to move west. The battle lasted about 2 hours and the Indians were forced to move west. This convinced the Indians in the Northwest Territory that they needed British help to stop the US from moving them further.
  • The first time the US attempted to cross into Canada

    The US suffere a defeat after Tecumseh and Brock’s army chase the US force led by Hull across the Canadian border. Hull is so scared that he surrenders Detroit to Britain without any gun shots taken.
  • The second time the US attempted to cross into Canada

    General Stephen Van Rennsselear leads American troops through the Niagara river to Queenston Hights. New York militia refuse to follow and the US gets defeated.
  • The third time the US attempted to cross into Canada

    General goes to the Canadian Border in order to attack Montreal, but reatreats to Plattburg, New York, when the militia refused to follow him. The militia claims they are only required to fight on their own soil.
  • Battle of Lake Erie

    US Captain Oliver H Perry destroyed the British Fleet on Lake Erie in a ten-hour battle. Oliver Perry reported his success by saying “We have met the enemy and they are ours." This win forced the British to leave Detroit and gave the US control of Lake Erie.
  • Napoleon's defeat in Europe, allowing the British to commit more troops to the war in the US

    Napoleon is defeated in Europe, and Great Britain sends 18,000 veteran troops to Canada. This results in the US getting defeated at Lundy's Lane.
  • British Attack Washington D.C and Burn the Capital and White House

    British Attack Washington D.C and Burn the Capital and White House
    British Forces capture Washington D.C. They burn all of the buildings including the White House. The secretary of War John Armstrong is forced to resign. Dolley Madison saved all the important files before it burned.
  • British Attack Baltimore

    British Attack Baltimore
    American Troops successfully defend Fort McHenry against the British. Fort McHenry withstood 25 hours of bombardment. Francis Scott Key wrote the Star spangled Banner.
  • Battle of New Orleans

    Battle of New Orleans
    Two weeks after the war ended, the British attacked New Orleans. General Andrew Jackson and his troops defeated the battle in a one-sided battle. This was the last major battle of the war. This left the US with the taste of victory.
