They got admitted because Charlayne Hunter filed a civil suit and at trail the judge stated a ruling that they would have already been accepted if it weren't for their race and color. That is when UGA let them in the university.

This was a court case where it was decided that separate schools for whites and blacks is unconstitutional. They overturned the ruling in the Plessy v. Ferguson that said separate but equal is constitutional.

Sibley commission was public hearings of how the people of Georgia felt about schools being desegregated, and most people didn't want them to be. Georgia said that the districts could chose to have the schools that way or not. This caused many private schools.

The Student Non-Violence Coordinating Committee (SNCC) started the Albany Movement. Despite having Martin Luther King Jr. presences, the Albany Movement failed. Many people were jailed and the police used peaceful tactics to avoid negative publicity.
