    Paleo

    They were the first Native Americans out of the others.They had large spear heads called a clovis.They hunted large animals such as, a saber tooth tiger,ground sloth,wild horses,moose,elk,bison,and a mammoth.They wear cloths from animal skin.They move place to place never staying and they existed 12,000 years ago.
  • Period: Jan 1, 1000 to Jan 1, 1200

    Archaic

    They were second out of the others.They depend on fish and gathering nuts and berries for much of their food.They also had small,crudely fashioned spear points,including stone axes.They were cloths from animal skin.They live under rock shelters or in pithouses and they also stay in one spot,and trade with each other and they existed from 8000BC to 1000BC.

    They were the third ones.They began to harvest crops like sunflowers,squash,gourds,beans,maize,and early type of corn.They used bows and arrows.They were animal skin.They live with protected walls around them.They stay and develope in agriculture and farming and existed from 1000 B.C. to A.D. 800.

    They were the last ones so far.They also had bow and arrows,etc.They wear animal skin.They grow things and etc.They stay in a certain place.They live on a coast and they lived from 18000 B.C. to 1600.A.C.

    Hernando de Soto
    Hernando de Soto live in the east and he travels to Georgia and other southeastern states.He wanted to explore the states for gold.He saw Native Americans on the way.He brought different diseases with him they were smallpoxs.He captured them because he cannot find gold.He dies and they recorded the journey.

    The groups was called the trustees,and they could not come to a colony.The charter is a legal document that grants special rights and privileges.The king stated that the trustees could not own and hold political office,or be given money for their work.They could not pass laws unless king agreed.Blacks were not admitted so as not to introduce slavery to settle their differences.Cathlots,lawges,liquors.

    James Oglethorpe proposed a colony to help people.James O. found Georgia.The first plans to settle Georgia were made by Sir Robert Montogomery.The colony was named Margravate of Azilia.James Oglethorpe helped people who were in trouble.His friend died of small pox while in prison.

    Salzburgers arrived from Austria for religious reasons.They were being persecuted by the catholics in Europe.James Oglrthorpe provided them with land and they named it Ebenezer.They moved because the land was not good,and named their new home New Ebenezer.

    John Reynolds was the first royal governor.He wasthe worst out of the others.He served from 1754 to 1757.He made a structure of royal government,including courts,a council,and the Commors House of Assembly.The KIng voted to recall Reynolds and ordered the governor back to England.

    James Wright was the third royal gov't.He was the middle out of the others.He served from 1760 to 1782.He encouraged settlement of Georgia's frontier.It ended when the British occupied Savannah.
  • Austin Dabney

    Austin Dabney
    Austin Dabney was a slave who fought against the British in the American Revolutionary War.He was born a mulatto slave in Wake County,North Carolina,sometime in the 1760s.He moved with his master,Richard Aycock, to Wilkes County,Georgia,in the late 1770s.Dabney became an artilleryman in Colonel Elijah Clarke's company.He was shot in the thigh during the Battle of Kettle Creek and he recovered.

    American Colonies broke from the British Empire and formed an independent nation, the United States of America.The British placed a tax on the American Colonies.Patriots are the thirteen Colonies that supported the American Revolution.The British had the Boston Tea party and made Ameriacns to pay for it.The Americans end it with the Declaration of Independence.

    It had a weak national gov't and the state gov't is too strong.It has an unicameral legislature.They could not regulate trade.They could not enforce laws.The state had its own currency and milta.

    It is the first constitution.There is a central gov't.The power was divided between central national gov't and individual state gov't.Congress could declare war and sign treaties.Congress also can deliver mail and create money.

    Abraham Baldwin and William Few signed the consitution .As more people move into the new state,they began to push westward into the land and occpied by the indians.Georgia needed strong national gov't to help protest from indians..A special convention was called to consider ratification of the U.S. Constitution.Georgia became the fourth state to ratify U.S. Constitution,by a vote of 26 to 0.

    Eli Whitney inventor of the cotton gin.He used it for separation of seeds.It was made in 1793.He thought this was the best way to separate.It help improve the speed of the cotton.

    It was a pair of federal laws to capture and return run away slaves.It was a part of the Comp of 1850 between the Southern slaves holding and the Northern free soilers.Slavery was abolished in the Northern states.It was a federal crime to help a run away slave.Some slaves was killed.

    He signed a law that missionaries could only live in cherokee territory if they signed.The act was to prevent the exercise of assumed and arbitrary power by all persons.Worcester argured that the state could not maintain the prosecution.He filed a suit with the supreme court.Worcestor was realeased out of jail after signing the allegiance.

    The Indian Removal Act was a law passed by Congress on May 28, 1830 during the presidency of Andrew Jackson.It authorized the president to negotiate with Indian tribes in the Southern United States for their removal to federal territory west of Mississippi River in exchange for their homeland.Non-Native people of the South were eager to gain access to lands.The lands was inhabited by the Five Civilized Tribes.Christian missonaries,most notably Jeremiah Evarts,protested against its passage.

Kansas was amitted to the Union as free state.

    The 13th admendment was to ambolished slavery.Slavery was over and the slaves have freedom.Abraham Lincoln signed a joint resolution submitting the proposed admendment.It was ratifyed by the States on December 6,1865.President Lincoln had issued the Emancipation Proclamation declaring that all persons held as slaves in this State.

    It gave former slaves the opportunity to become citizens.It was ratifyed during the Reconstruction era.It is known as a Reconstruction admendment.No person was allowed to be deprived of life,liberity,or property.It also gives you equal protection of laws.

    It gave former slaves the right to vote.It prohibit the Fedral and the State government from denying the race or color of some one's skin.It is the third and last Reconstruction admendment.Southern States were able to disenfranchise African Americans.It changed the slaves lives.
