Bill of Rights Ratified
Virginia becomes the 10th of 14 states that ratified the amendment. Washington signs the Bill of Rights. -
Proclamation of Neutrality
The official announcement issued by President George Washington declaring the United States a neutral nation in the conflict between Great Britain and France. -
Whiskey Rebellion
Washington organized a militia force of 12,950 men and led them towards Western Pennsylvania. He sent all the farmers home and settled the rebellion down. -

A very hard time for Washington. Even though in the peak of the revolution, he was able to negotiate peace with Britain and establish a peaceful trade agreement. -

This stoped the Northwest Indian War and gained Indian lands for the United States. -

Provided a united relations with Spain and its colonies. It also gave America the rights to navigation on the Mississippi River. -
