The exact date to Genghis Khan's birthday is not known but we do know he was born around the year 1162. Genghis Khan was born near the border between present day Mongolia and SIberia. When he was born he was named Temujin.

Shortly before his 10th birthday Genghis Khan lost his father. His father did not just die of natural causes.His father was poisened to death by an enemy clan. Khan's own clan then deserted him, his mother, and his 6 siblings so that they didn't have to feed them.

In 1178 Temujin married Borte.He had rescued Borte after she was kidnapped. They had 4 sons and an unknown number of daughters.

Genghis Khan executed the leaders of his enemy tribes and took the remaining members into his clan. By 1205 he had vanished all of his rivals. He then combined every piece of territory that he had conquered and established a nation.

The mongols attacked the Jin Dynasty of northern china. The mongols raveged the countryside and left refugees fleeing to the cities. Food shortages became a problem for the Jin Dynasty and the mongols soon besieged the capital of Zhongdu.

In 1214 the Mongols had besieged the capital of Zhongdu(which is now Beijing). The Jin ruler gave the Mongols many thigns like large amounts of silk, silver, gold, and horses. The Jin ruler moved his court to the south which Genghis Khan took as a breach to their argeement. He then sacked Zhongdu to the gorund.

In 1219 Genghis Khan went to war against the Khwarezm empire which is in present day Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Iran. The sultan of Khwarezm agreed to a trade treaty, but when the first caravan arrived its goods were stolen. The sultan then murdered a number of Genghis Khan's ambassadors. The mongols then went into Khwarezm and attacked one city after the other.

In 1227 a horse threw Genghis to the ground. This caused internal injuries for him and his health never recovered. He died on August 18, 1227 trying to crush the Xi Xia.
