when it came to the workers doing actvites before and maybe when working it had to cost the owners alot of money to get the right equipment and teachers to take part of the activites and work on them indviually or in groups. -
The Upturn in Society
In the 1830's to 1840's the english and most other countries became more mobile with the inturduction of railways which let you get to your job quicker and increase the viewers for sports such as Horse Racing and Cricket which in return got more people to play the sports in free time -
Agricutural Society
in the agricultural society people lived of just lands and there would be no time to do social activites or any leisure. Usually people and children's workout was just doing hard physical work. -

The way they sent out messages for people to do lesiure activites was on market days and fairs by playing such activites as gambling and cock-fighting. -

the term public school means that it is used for everyone poor or rich for education for kids and teeenagers. At the time you must of had some sort of money to get into these schools but now adays it is fee paying. -
