Every year for over 15 years now, the Royalette Dance Team travels to Orlando, Florida to compete in the National Dance Team Championship. This was the first time I got to go with my team and compete in Disney World!

Robin Williams was an American Actor who effected the lives of many people, adults and children alike. He starred in classics like "Mrs. Doubtfire," "Good Will Hunting," "Jumanji," "Dead Poets Society," "Flubber," and was even the voice of the genie in "Aladdin." He took his life suddenly in 2014.

The 2014 Senate elections in North Carolina resulted in the most Republican Candidates in the history of North Carolina. They had 8 Candidates that year. Thomas Tillis was the Republican nominee and Kay Hagan was the Democratic nominee.

My junior year I applied to be an officer on my dance team which was essentially a captains position. I applied, interviewed and stressed for weeks but I did not get a position. It was my first major failure I had ever faced and it has been a huge motivator in my life to be a leader.

Former Governor McCrory passed the bill that essentially stated transgender people do not have the legal right to use the bathroom of their gender identification but have to use the bathroom of the sex they were born as.

In 2017, I met my boyfriend, Andrew Kakaley, and he quickly became the most important person in my life. He is in the Marine Corps and graduates with a masters this summer in Mechanical Engineering. Meeting him has changed my life in the best way possible.
