    It was the first official announcement of the U.S governement policy toward Great Brittan and France. It demanded that the U.S stay neutral and warned citizens against aiding either side.

    Besides Mexico, every other important colony in Latin america gained independence. Certain monarchies in Europe threatened to stamp out representative governments. President Monroe had policy statement that called the Monroe Doctrine.

    The Indian removal act required the Cherokee, The Creek, The Chickasaw, and the Seminote to abandon their farms and move to the west.
    All the tribes suffered, U.S troops rounded up 15,000 Cherokee men, women and childreen and put them in military stokades. The cherokee were marched off to the Indian territory, a distance of 1,200 miles. This event is now called the "Trail of Tears".
