    Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13th, 1743 in Shadwell, VA. He was known as the 'silent member' of Congress, and he drafted the declaration of independence. He also wrote the bill establishing freedom of religion. Another thing he did was make Ohio a state. Both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on July 4th 1826.

    The Lewis and Clark Exposition was led by Meriwhether Lewis and William Clark. They explored the Louisiana Purchase. The Louisiana Purchase now covers 15 states

The Native Americans were the only people to lose this war. Great Britain had other wars to worry about, so this was not very important to them, but it was to Canada.

    The Indian Removal Act was passed by former president Andrew Jackson. Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and Seminole were the tribes that were mostly affected. The Native Americans had to walk 5,045 miles, and if they refused to walk they were held at gunpoint. Cherokee took this issue to Court. The Court Justice said that the tribes did not have to walk, but Andrew Jackson made them anyway.

    The Black Hawk War was short and was led by Native American Black Hawk against the U.S. This war was fought because the Native Americans wanted land back that they had lost in previous wars. A treaty that the U.S had signed prevented them from taking back the land.

    Zachary Taylor was the 12th US president. He had a very short presidency before he died in 1850, only lasting 1 year. He did not do much during his presidency. He did, however, make tensions worse between the North and South, and quickened the Civil War.
