    This case was about a a multi racial man named Homer Plessy whom lived in New Orleans and was forced to take the blacks olny car because he was one 8th African. He ws arrested, this was African Americans plan, they wanted him to get arrested so that they could get the "Separate But Equal" laws effeaced but in the end they were upheld by the Supreme Court

    National Association of Colored Women is formed
    The association was formed to improve the life, homes, and communities of their fellow African Americans. They focused on job training, equal pay, and chidcare. These things uplifted the African American and helped them live a better life, the association was meant to help people.

    The interracial group was working for civil rights, they opposed racial segragation anf the movement was named after the Niagra Falls for its "mighty current". They wanted equal treatment for everyone and had all of their members follow a declaration that stated all of their wishes for the furture, in terms of helping the African Americans.

    Founded by Jessie Daniel Ames and 12 other member that sought to convinse white women to be strong against lynching. This group did a lot for making lymching illegal. Many have learned from them and give thatnks to Jessie and the rest of the Southern Women Against Lynching.

    Gregory Swanson sued to gain admittance into UVA's law school in 1950 which is even before the Brown v. Board disicion that made all schools desegragate.

    Brown v. Board of Education
    The US Supreme Court case that declared state laws for seprate public schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional. This ruling paved the way for integration to happen, it was a major victory for the Civil Rights Movement.

    This ferderal law signed by Presiden Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1960, established federal inspection of voter registration polls and established penalties to anyone that would obstruct a persons attemp to register to vote.

    Bombing Massacre of th MOVE house
    House Fire MOVE was founded in 1972 and avocated for green politics and all of the members changed their last name to "Africa". The MOVE House in West Philidalphia where members lived brodcasting political messages by bull horn- even at night. Some complaints lead to armed standoffs with the police and escalated to state police droppign two bombs on the house. The massive blaze destroyed 65 homes and 11 people died from the fire.

    Runnign for office He served as the first African American to be elected as govenor of any state and the grandson of slaves. He was the 66th govenor of Virgina from 1990-1994. He was an inspirational figure to all who followed in his footsteps to one day become leaders of America.
