    The discovery of America really shaped our country because if we had never found it we probably would still be in England and a big part of the Revolutionary war was the geography of us being so far away and Britain wanting to still control us

    This was the first successful settlement in America and it shaped our country because this was where we started taking land from the Native Americans

    This event is important because it is the first time slaves were brought to America. It shows how ingrained slavery was in the American way of life and how it was here from the beginning making us dependent on it. This paves the way for the American Civil War.

    The Mayflower Compact was the first document in America that established self-government. It also showed that we were capable of ruling ourselves with Great Britain.

    This event is significant because it gets colonists very angry and makes them start to rebel even more against the British and see them as enemies.
