Don't let fear control you

  • Cutting all of my hair off

Cutting all of my hair off
The summer before my 8th grade year I made a decision that is one of the main reasons I chose not letting fear control your decisions as my main topic. I decided to cut all my hair off and donate it to locks of love.

My 8th grade year a bunch of the girls from the team wanted me to try out and join the team, I was a bit scared only because i hadn't played in a really long time but eventually i overcame my fear and tried out and made it

    Joining my schools cheer team
This past year I tried out and made my high school's cheer team. I was super excited but also super scared, I was placed in the position of a flyer. Being a flyer meant i had to be picked up and held in the air by three girls... I'm super afraid of heights and that was something I had to over come in order to keep my spot,
  • Making new friends

    Making new friends
Coming into high school is scary enough, but going in knowing you have no classes or lunch with anyone you know is horrifying. I was scared to talk to the people I didn't know because it seemed like everywhere i went EVERYONE knew EVERYONE and I was that weird outsider, i was afraid to make the first move because i was afraid of being rejected. Eventually I had to overcome my fear and talk to them. Now some of them are my closest friends. All it had to take was me not letting fear control me.
  • Dance Class

    Dance Class
This past year I took dance, at the end or every dance semester we have a dance recital and a BUNCH of people buy tickets to come watch the recital, I love to act and sing and dance but I am terrified of being up in front of people, especially hundreds but i had to do it so i did it despite my fear and it was actually one of the funnest nights ever.
  • Prom

    Prom
This past year (my freshman year) a couple of my senior friends were gong to prom and one of them asked me to go. I was a bit nervous because I knew I would be one of the only freshman there and I was worried about what the other juniors and seniors would think. After my friends practically dragged me there it took a minute or two to warm up but but as soon as I did I had a blast and I don't regret going one bit.
