In the late 1700s, 'The First Fleet' arrived in Port Jackson (Sydney), Australia. 'The First Fleet' was a fleet of eleven ships, which held around 780 people on board. The people who were sent on the ships were mostly criminals that had commited a crime in England and was sent to Australia, and could not come back. Farming was a big issue because the English farmers were not used to the Australian farming techniques, so many English criminals nearly starved to death.
