  • Ed Sheeran was born

    Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax, England

  • Recoring

    Sheeran began recording in 2005, which lead to the release of his first EP, The Orange Room EP. He was just 13 at the time

  • First Album

    Ed Sheeran released his first album in 2006 which was self titled

  • Second Album

    Ed released the album 'Want Some' in 2007

  • Move to London

    in 2008, when ed was 16 he moved from Halifax to London to pursue his music career

  • Gigs

    In 2009 Ed Sheeran played an extremly impressive 312 gigs!!!. he was inspired to play so many because of James Morrison. James played a large 200 in one year and Ed was keen to beat that record. He beat this record with ease.

  • SBTV video

    In February 2010 Ed posted a video on YouTube that got hugely noticed. It was the original recording of his song 'You need me, I don't need you' It got so well known the rapper Example asked Ed to tour wiht him.

  • No. 5 Collaborations Project

    On 8 January 2011, Sheeran released his final independent EP, No. 5 Collaborations Project featuring grime artists including Wiley, JME, Devlin, Sway and Ghetts

  • First Single

    The A Team entered the UK Singles Chart at number three, selling over 58,000 copies in the first week

  • Second Single

    You Need Me, I Don't Need You was released on 28 August as the second single from the album. The second single peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart

    • became a top ten hit in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway and the Netherlands as well as the UK
