    America acquires a strip of land west of the Mississippi from France for 15 million dollars

    A general embargo on British and French goods to remain neutral during the Napoleonic War

    War of 1812

    A war between the United States and Britain over the British denying the Americans trade with France using impressment. The fighting mainly happened in what is now Canada and lead into the United States. Lead to a militaristic stalemate resolved by the Treaty of Ghent.

    A treaty calling to an end of fighting between Britain and the Untied States. Sadly it took awhile for the news to spread across the nation and the battle of New Orleans happened after it was passed.

    A policy that claims a interference with politics in the United States by foreign powers is seen as an act of aggression
