    This dynasty was in rule from 221 BC to 207 BC. Legalism was in place for this dynasty which means that there was absolute power to the emporer and his government.

    Emperor Er Shi was forced to commit suicide during the fighting. Liu Bang who was a leader of the opposition soon became Emperor Gaodi in 206 BC which started the Western Han.

    The government minted the Ban Liang coin to be used in the empire. This eventually made buying and selling much easier. The government also required standardization of written characters which led to one way of learning to write and also read.

    The Han dynasty started with a revolt against the Qin emperor which was led by Liu Bang who won the war. He later changed his name to Han Gaozu and established the dynasty.

    The end of the song Dynasty is when they allied with Mongols to go against their enemy Jin. After helping conquer the Jin the Mongols turned on the Song Dynasty. Leader Kublai Khan (leader of mongols) conquered all of China and created the Yuan dynasty

    Jani Beg formed a campaign in Azerbaijan and later conqurered the city of Tabriz. Ming Dynasty overthrew the Mongol Empire. Last ruler was Toghun Temur who fled north to Shangdu.

    Ming Dynasty
    This era was full of civil engineering: including the great wall of China, Grand Canal, and the Forbidden City. This is also a big time for art like literature, music, and porcelain. Ming is known for their vases that are usually blue and white. Emperor Chengzu was the third emporer. He helped rebuild the Grand Canal and establish trade for China.

    The fall of Ming Dynasty came from many factors. One of them was the small Ice age damaged crops leaving citizens hungry. Sense of rebellion started to grow with the soldiers and people. Silver currency began to decline even thought the country depended on it. Also invasions brought the Ming Dynasty to end. Manchus invaded China which took out MIng Dynasty completley. Qing Dynasty will now be in control.

More land creates more power and this Dynasty was doing very well. Emperor Kangxi led 80,000 troops to conquer.

    Great Britian showed discontent with China.Great Britians leader would not bow down to Chinas leader properly. China ceded Hong Kong after the opium war. Over a long period of time there was a large amount of immagrants that left the domestic upheavals settle in that colony. There continues to be Western Pressures on China still today. Technology from the Western ideas has always been a big pressure on China. Also some citizens in China believe they should have Democracy which is a pressure also

    The first Opium war was faught from 1839 to 1842. Jiaqing Emperor tried to stop the British generals from selling opium in china since more and more people were getting addicted to it. Opium war was fought because British believed there was unfair trade. To end the war China paid Britian a lot of money and agreed to let British traders use Chinese ports without being under Chinese laws.

    About 20 million people died and 17 provinces were ravaged into political and relgious upheavel, This rebellion happend from 1850 to 1864. This rebellion weakend the Qing Dynasty hugely.

    In the later years civil disorders got out of hand and the government was forced to do something.Empress Cixi called for reform of generalsand governers to create a new policy. Result led in extensive reform in 1905 which includes a national education system. A revolution started due to a 2 year old taking the throne ( Prince Chun's son). The Wuchang Uprising started which led to the creation of the Republic of China.

    Emperor Wen of Sui had many goals like building the Grand Canal, improvement of the great wall of China, standarize currency, unifications in all of China, and mant more. After defeating Chen dynasty Xianbein was employed shortly after.

    Tang Dynasty
    Li Yuan was the first emporer who basically created the dynasty. In this dynasty there were many improvements in engineering and technology. One of the most important inventions was the woodblock printing which allowed mass production of books to be printed. Also gunpowder was invented during this time which was mostly used for fireworks during this time. Towards the end of this dynasty rulers made Confucianism the national religion which banned all other religions.

    Fall of Tang Dynasty
    The dynasty eventually became very weak due to high taxes and curruption. A rebellion started by over taxed people in 874 that destroyed the city of Chang'an. Tang Dynasty finally stopped them but they never recovered from the distruction. The dynasty came to its final end when Zhu Wen removed the last Tang emporer and then took power.

    Fall of Sui Dynasty
    Emperor Wen was murdered by his people and his son Emperor Yang of Sui soon took control. He had different goals than his father did and put a lot of focus on examination and education if bureaucrats. He also created the Grand Canal and some other costly construction projects. The decrease of power was the numerous military expeditions, expensive projects, and high living standards. Leader Eulji Mundeok of Goguryeio overpowerd the military of Sui and lost the battle.

    The Sui dynasty started in 581 and ended in 618. The Tang Dynasty started in 618 to 907.

    Ruled from 960 to 1279. Northern Song ruled from 960 to 1127 and Southern Song ruled from 1127 to 1279.
