The dideridoo was first found in 0013 which was 2000 years ago and aborigonals think that it was first made 40,000 years ago. There are rock art paintings in the Northern Territory showing the didgeridoo dating back about 2000 years.

In 1788 white people came to Australia. Aboriginals were shocked because there were massive wooden ships sailing to the shore. It was in Sydney where the ships first landed in Australia.

In 1835 it was first described as a trumpet.

In 1912 there was the first recording of the didgeridoo. It was recorded by Sir Badwin Spencer.

In 1986 Yothu Yindi started. Yothu Yindi was an aboriginal rock band that used didgeridoos, claping stacks and aboriginal dancing and singing. It brought the sounds of the didgeridoo to popular music.

In 2013 Yothu Yindu's lead singer died, his name was Mandawuy Yunupingu. He was a really big part of Yothu Yindi and the community of Arnhemland.
