    Proclamation of Neutrality established
    President George Washington was very clear on his position of how America would interact with foreign issues. Specifically he established the proclamation of neutrality to state where he stood between France and Great Britain and how he did not want to get involved between them.
  • X,Y,Z Affair

    X,Y,Z Affair
    This was when France and the Us werehaving issues and a meeting occured ( X,Y,Z refers to the people involved) US diplomats were sent to France to discuss matters. They were to meet French Foreign Minister but before they could meet with him the X,Y,Z people demanded money. Many Americans took this to be a bribe and were angered.

    This was a treaty that ended any alliance with France. America was influenced by Washingtons farewell speech and stayed neutral for many more years.

    Louisiana Purchase
    Jefferson had bought a huge amount of land from France. This greatly increased the size of the US and began diving into Western expansion.

    This was enacted when issues arose over a violation of the US's neutrality. American Sailors were captured by Euro Natives.

    This war last from 1812 to 1815 and was between the Americans andthe British. The main reason was Impressoment and tax issues.

    This Treaty ended the war of 1812 and everything went back to normal everyone went to their own corners because no land was gained or lost.
  • The Monroe Doctrine

    The Monroe Doctrine
    This said that any exports European countries had would be seen as acts of aggression. It also said the America would not mess or get involved with any European colonies.
