Eight hundred new industries appeared in atlanta by 1954.To accomodate the growing population, Atlanta annexed over one hundred square miles.It went to being the 32nd largest city to the 23rd.In the Early 1950s, freeways and interstate highways better linked with Atlanta with the reigon and other areas of the country.
