Dave Grohl was born in Warren, OH on January 14, 1969. He lived in the area for the first three years of his life before moving to Alexandria, Virginia (just outside Washington, D.C.) where he would stay until dropping out of high school to pursue music (thefamouspeople.com).

Dave's interest in music grew significantly when he attended a punk concert at Chicago's Cubby Bear Tavern in Wrigleyville while visiting a cousin who had grown fond of the genre (thefamouspeople.com). After this, he knew he had to dedicate his life to music.

Kurt Cobain killing himself forced the end of Nirvana, the band that originally made Grohl famous. He spiraled into a deep depression for a few months, but rebounded after recording some demos in a friend's recording studio that would eventually become the first Foo Fighters record (bio.com).

Dave started doing documentaries these past few years. The interview here features him talking about his life as a whole, but for the most part always retreating to talking about "Sound City". This was his documentary he released about the famous recording studio of the same name in Los Angeles that shut down in 2011 (Sam Jones).
