    On January 10, 1789 the newly founded electoral college elected George Washington as the president of the United States.

    Hamilton had a p;an that would establish the nation's finnancial credibility. This "plan" would make it easier to borrow money in the future. This "plan" would also have many benefits like promoting commrce and industrial growth.

    Formed a cabinet, or group of leaders who headed the major departments of an executive branch and advised the president. A cabinet had 4 executive departments: Treasury, war, and the attorney general. Thomas Jefferson conducted a frogien policey. Members were approved by the senate, The cabinet was officially recognized by law in 1907.
