The Georgia Society (formed in 1730) gets a charter from King George II. The charter granted territory and lant to the trustees. The charter also set up rules that the trustees should follow.

James Oglethorpe and 114 colonists set sail to Georgia on the Frigate Ann. They were the first Europeans in Georgia. They set sail from Gravesend, England.

42 Jewish settlers arrive in Savannah, Georgia. James Oglethrope welcomes in to the colony of Savannah. They must still follow the same rule as all other colonists.

The Salzburgers arrive at Ebenezer. They are German Protestants that were exiled from Germany because of their religion.

Oglethorpe and the Creek Indians of Georgia establish a treaty. The treaty stated of tfriendship and trade.

James Oglethorpe goes to England to raise money for the colonies. He also wants 600 men for an attack from the Spanish that he thinks is coming.

Britain declares war on Spain. It starts the Jenkins Ear war.

The leader of the Yamacraw ,Tomachichi, dies. He is buried in Wright Square which is in downtown Savannah.

Oglethorpe, Indians, Geogians and South Carolinians invade Florida. They capture Saint Augustine.

The Bethesda Orphan House is started by George Whitefield. It burnsdown twice and is not rebuilt after the second fire.

Spanish invade Georgia in the Battle of Bloody Marsh. They soon retreat back to Florida.

Oglethorpe returns to England and becomes a member of Parliament.

King George promotes James Oglethorpe to brigadier general.

Oglethorpe loses his seat and is out of parliament after 32 years.
