    In late febuary and early march dutch explorers found australia.But they didnt claim it.So no one knew about it.

    The french start to come over and they overpopulate England.

  • 1787 the first fleet

    On the 24th of january 1787 the first fleet arived in Botany Bay.The first fleet carried more than one thousand men.It also carried convicts in harsh living conditions byt still better than living on the streets or in crowded british prisons.

  • 1788 the european settlement

    The europeans travle to australia in the first fleet and arrive

  • 1851 time for gold

    In 1851 the gold rush started in australia not many people got any gold.People from all over the world came to australia.

  • 1853 what happened to the convicts.

    In 1853 the last shipment of convicts getting brought to tasmania.

  • 1854 miners getting rights

    On the 3rd of december 1854 miners held a fight for them to have rights to vote.On this day the diggers as they call them selfs made a huge fire and burned their licences.More than 20 of them died that day.They also raised their own flag.

    On the 10th of january the final shipment ever of convicts happend.
    This was because people were getting more jobs and space was freeing up at british prisons.

    On the 1st of january 1901 the British parliament passed on legislation Allowing all 6 australian colonies the govern in their own right as part of the common wealth of Australia.

    In 1929 the Great Depression was when things started to become more expensive and because it was costing mor eyo do things alot of businesses shut down which also caused people to not have jobs.
