This is where the US and sovites had an intense riavlary about space and who could go the furtherst. Soviets started with the lead with sputnik 1, however when they kept competing it acually brought them together and made the international space station. -
U-2 Reconnaissance plan
This was where the US's CIA had a plane trying to spy on the soviets and the sovites shot it down. This lead to an embarrassing conference between the US and the soviets. -
Bay of Pigs
This was when the US tried to invade cuba but faild miserable, this embarrassed the US. -
Reagan Visits the Wall
This is when Regan visited the Berlin wall. This showed continued commitment to the people of west Berlin. -
Cuban missile Crisis
This was the closest the US and soviets actually fighting. This also includes nuclear warfare. -

This was the first step to slow down the arms race. To prevent a great war. -
Soviets Invade Afghanistan
The US and the soviets each back a differnt side and this lead to the US boycotting the 1980 Olympics. -
Reunited Germany
This where when East and West Germany reunited. East Germany was no longer communist, and this was evidence that the War Saw Pact's days was numbered.
