Soviets invade Afghanistan
Although Amin was a communist, the USSR did not trust him. The Soviet secret police reported that he was an American spy. The Soviets feared that it would turn into an Islamic state and cause other nations to become Islamic states and not be allies to USSR. -
Berlin Wall Comes Down
The Berlin Wall was taken down five days after 500,000 people gathered in East Berlin and caused a mass protest. Everyone from the East wanted to escape to the West.
