    Baby boom happened for older Americans who post-poned marriage and child berth during the Great Depression and World War 2 were joined in the nations maternity wards by young adults who were eager to start families after World War 2. Baby boomers had a major impact on buying habits of Americans and contributed about 77% of the wealth accumulated in America. Baby boomers had impact on Social Security once they retire, most baby boomers will retire and this will drain the Social Security bank.

    Rock & Roll

    The popularity of rock and roll resulted in a powerful impact on society. When jazz, blues, and country was combined it created rock and roll. Elvis Presley was one influencing young adults to be independent, which made some disobedient towards their parents.
  • Air Conditioning

    Many of the central changes in our society after WW2 would not have been possible if AC was not keeping homes and work places cool. -Everyone wanted AC down at the sun belt (including theatre in Hollywoods Golden Age. Where AC itself was an attraction) so when it was exploding around 1950s cars, homes, and businesses had people migrating back down South where it was hot.
  • Polio Vaccine by Dr. Jonas Salk

    Jonas Salk developed the first effective polio vaccine in 1952. He never patented the vaccine to make it easier to widely distribute. His vaccine was tested in the Francis Field Trials. The test began with approximately four thousand children and eventually would involve over 1.8 million children across 44 states. This was known as the largest medical experiment at the time. The vaccine was licensed for distribution in April of 1955.

    -NASA made it possible for the American researchers to collaborate on and disseminate scientific advance, an opportunity envied by many of U.S soviet scientist.
  • Friendship 7

    The Friendship 7 is a capsule that John Glenn went to space in and he was the first American to orbit the Earth. It led to Mercury into Earth orbit and enable Glenn to circle Earth 3 times. John Glenn is responsible for more students studying math and science and bringing interest more to space.
  • Pres. Kennedys "Moon Speech"

    Was delivered by JFK. It was one of Kennedys earlier speeches meant to persuade the American people to support the National effort to land a man on the moon and safely return him back home. To began the "Space Race" against U.S.S.R. during the Cold War.
  • Apollo 11

    Apollo 11 launched from Cape Kennedy carrying commander Neil Armstrong, commander module pilot Michael Collins, and lunar module pilot Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. Armstrong stepped on the moon following him was Buzz. Releasing the famous quote by Armstrong "Thats one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." This secured the win of the space race against Russia.
