    The UN was declared by Presidents Roosevelt on January 1, 1942. The UN formed because the league of nations failed. The UN had 26 representative nations that pledges their government to continue fighting against the axis power.

    The iron curtain was an imaginery line that divided east and west Europe. The iron curtain seperated countries of commnism and non- communist from the end of WWII in 1945 until the end of Cold War in 1991. Satellite nations were formed in East Europe to follow the Soviets policies while the West were free. The iron curtain led to the berlin airlift because the wall was built.

The containment policy was to stop Soviet expansion. In result of helping Greece and Turkey, the Soviet Union was no longer a wartime allie. People often thought this was the start of the Cold War.

    In June 1948, the Soviet Union attempted to control all of Berlin by surface traffic to and from West Berlin. The point was to starve the population so the Soviet Uniont would have control of West Berlin. In response, the U.S. started flying planes in and out, loaded with supplied, until the government allowed surface traffic back into West Berlin.

    The plan was to give aid from the U.S. to Europe. It's also known as ERP, European Recovery Program. After WWII Europes economy was damaged severely, so the U.S. helped rebuild Europes economy in order to prevent the spread of communism. The Marshall Plan helped the industrial and agriculture production, even the standards of living increased. The Marshall Plan led to the Berlin Airlift because they were both ways to help Europe rebuild their economies.

The invasion was intended to ignite a popular uprising against Casto. The failed invasion strengthened the position of Catro's administration and ties with the USSR. Leading to the Cuban Missile Crisis because Khrushchev believed the U.S was too weak to oppose Soviet expansion into Cuba.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was one of the major confrontaations of the cold war, and it almost caused the Cold war to turn into a nuclear conflict. It doumented as the first threat of mutual assured destruction. The Cuban Missle Crisis happened because Cuba felt that Americans domination was a problem. On October 27, Kennedy agrred to remove all missiles as long as Cuba did the same.
