This is where the U.S. CIA has a plane trying to spy on the Soviets and the Soviets shot down the plans and this had led up to an embarrassing conference between the U.S. ans Soviets. -
Bay of Pigs
This is where the U.S. tried to invade Cuba but had failed miserably, this had embarrassed the U.S. -
Reagan visits the Wall
This is when Reagan visited the Berlin Wall, this showed continued commitment to the people of West Berlin. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
This was the closest to the U.S. and the Soviets actually fighting. This includes nuclear warfare also. -
Strategic Arms Limitation Talks
This is one of the first steps to slow the arms race. -
Soviets invade Afghanistan
The U.S. and the Soviets each back a different side and this led to the U.S. boycotting the 1980's Olympics. -
Reunited Germany
This is where East and West Germany reunited, East Germany was no longer Communist, and this was evidence that the War Saw Pact's days were numbered.
