    British, and Soviet military forces divided and occupied Germany. The Soviets ended all ties between Berlin and other countries. They couldn't get goods imported for them, so they had airlifts bring cargo of goods to bring into Berlin. This event went on longer than they anticipated but helped Berlin a lot in the time of need in war.
