    The Berlin blockade was one of the first crisis of the Cold War. The blockade was the Soviets blocking the Western allies completely from Berlin. They shut down railroads, roads, canals, etc. The allies then had to fly in food and supplies for the people trapped in Berlin.

    When the Soviets blockaded Berlin, the allies decided instead of retreating the would just fly food and supplies into berlin for the people who were inside, this was known as the Berlin Airlift.
  • Chinese Civil War

    This was a civil war between the communist in China and the nationalist in China. Mao Zedong was a extreme communist in China , and Jiang Jieshi was a nationalist. Both of these men wanted nothing more then to win.

    This was a policy the Uinted States National Security Council. This policy made the military capable of many things such as, Defending the Western Hemisphere and essential allied areas in order that their war-making capabilities can be developed, and providing and protecting a mobilization base while the offensive forces required for victory were being built up, adn many more things.

    This was a war between the Soviet People’s Republic of Korea to the north and the pro-Western Republic of Korea to the south. This invasion was the first military action of the Cold War. By July, American troops had entered the war on South Korea’s behalf.

General MacArthur had some brilliant strategies and military maneuvers that helped save South Korea from falling to the forces of communist North Korea. As U.S. and United Nations forces turned the tide of battle in Korea, MacArthur argued for a policy of pushing into North Korea to completely defeat the communist forces
