    700 hundred men of the Colorado Territory Militia opened fire on a friendly encampment of Cheyenne and Apraho. Over two-thirds of the massacre were estimated as women and children. The attack was mutilating, it had no reason behind the attack, around 70-163 inidians were murdered.

    2nd Treaty of Ft. Laramie
    It was also called the "Siox Treaty of 1868." It was an agreement of many native groups, that the US gained ownership of the Black Hills. The treaty article also included a segment that said Ensure Civilization. Which ment to have the tribes forceably get education and farm lands they were brought to. But this treaty was overturned during the Red Cloud war.

    Battle of Palo Duro Canyon
    Comanche had been stockpiling food and supplies for the Winter in the Texas panhandle. Colonel Mackenzie lead a suprise attack on the indian villages, destorying the villages set up by Chief Lone Wolf and Poor Buffalo. Many indians fled and left their possesions behind, others stayed and sniped some of the Colonel's men at nightfall.

    It was a combined engagement of several tribes against the 7th Calavry Regiment. There was a total of 700 men lead by George Custer. They suffered a horrible defeat, losing 268 dead and 55 injured
  • Surrender of Chief Joesph

    Surrender of Chief Joesph
    The relocation ended up becoming a war between the Nez Perce and the U.S. military. It was a thousand mile violent retreat trying to get aid from the Crow Nation who refused. Then out of desperation they attempted to flee to Canada, Chief Joesph surrendered 40 miles from the border. Technically Chief Joesph wasn't a war chief and was known more as a humanitarian but surrendered and became known for his famous speech.

    Capture of Geronimo
    After an attack on Geronimo's family, killing his wife and children he set out on a war path. He had became a war chief and was known notoriously for attacking and avoiding capture by American and Mexican troops. He finally surrendered and became a prisoner of war. He was never aloud to go to his homeland again, and later regretted his surrender.

    There is no specific date to when the movement started, although for the date. It was a religious movement for the Lakota that came to Wovoka's vision. The right practice of this moment said that the white man would leave and the buffalo herds would come back. Nor did those happen, but many settlers believed it was an act of war preperation and the ghost dance died quickly.

    Troops went to disarm the Lakota tribeman, but during the event one Lakota refused to give up his rifle. A skirmish went down while the troops tried to disarm him. During the minor conflict the rifle went off. Which resulted in the 7th Calvary to open fire on the Lakota people. A battle started, the troops killed many innocent men, women, and children.
