However, they failed to make agreements, and were forced to fight independently, but eventually had to retreat to Canada. After their surrender, they were forced to move to their reservation by June 14.

    Wounded Knee was the final battle of the American-Indian war, resulting in the Americans winning. After the battle ended, a deafened tribesman by the name of Black Coyote refused to give up his rifle. The U.S. Army shot and killed at least 300 Lakota.
