John Evans, governor of the territory in Cclorado, attempted to isolate Native Americans. They moved to different camps spread out. A man named Chivington, moved his troops around these camps. They attacked the Native Americans and hunted them down.Then they came back to kill the wounded. 148 Native americans died, and 9 of Chivingtons army was killed. -
Medicine Lodge Treaty
This is an overall name for three treaties signed between the U.S. government and southern plains indian tribes. It was intended to bring peace to the area by relocating the Native Americans to reservations in indian territory and away from European-American settlement. Under the treaty, the tribes were assigned reservations of a smaller size compared to territories defined in a 1865 treaty. -
2nd Treaty of Ft. Laramie
This was an agreement between the United States and the Lakota nation, Yanktonai Sioux, Santee Sioux, and Arapho signed it in 1868 at Fort Laramie. It guaranteed the Lakota ownership of the Black Hills, and further land hunting rights in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana.The treaty also ended Red Cloud's war. -

The Battle of the Little Big horn was a fight between the tribes Lakota, and Cheyenne against the 7th calvary of the United States army. The tribes won near the Little Bighorn River in the Montana Territory. The United States, commanded by George Armstrong Cluster lost every soldier in his army. -

The United States government orded the Nez Perce to relocate by June 14, 1877. The Nez Perce decided that instead of relocating the would flee to Canada. The Nez Perce tribe had to fight the United States army all the way to Canada. They finally decided to surrender and relocate in Montana, -
Capture of Geronimo
The Mexican army slaughtered Geronimo's family. They also went and killed women and children in the area. Then, they would steal supplies, and horses. Finding this news, Geronimo turned into a bold warrior. He raided the Mexican Army and some villages, but his army was too small. He finally decided to surrender and then he was captured in 1886. -
