    Colorado Territory militia which contained 700 men attacked the friendly Cheyenne and Arapaho. They killed 70-163 Indians. Two thirds of the Indians they killed were women and children.

    The Lakota, Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes joined together to fight off the 7th Calvry Regiment. Custer's Battalion was included in the 7th Calvry. Custer and all his men were killed.

    Chief Joseph surrended because he believed that the Nez Perce people would return to their reservation. That was not the case though. The Nez Perce were marched to the Tongue River Cantonement in southeast Montana Territory. This march was 265 miles long.

    Started by Wovaka, a Paiute shaman, receiving a vision. He claimed that if they did this dance that the baffalo would come back and the white settlers would leave. Word spread and this vision soon developed into a religious movement.

    The 7th Calvry was tring to take away weapons from the Sioux. One young man wouldn't give up his gun. In the struggle the gun accidentally went off, the Sioux and the soldiers instantly started shooting.
