  • Plessy v. Furguson

    Landmark Supreme Court case wherein a black student was denied access to a white school which was closer to her residence than the nearest black designated school. Result was the "Seperate but fair Ruling"
  • Brown v. Board of Education

    Landmark case wherein a Black student disputed his denied access to a local college and the quality of his facilities once he was alowed. The case was resolved and the student was allowed to attened classes with the white students.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    Rosa Parks in protest of the segregation laws, intentionally sat in the white designated portion of the bus.
  • Southern Christian Leadership Confrence (SCLC) was Founded

    Orginization devoted to unifying the black community and staging protests in favor of Civil Rights.
  • Freedom Rides

    Protests against Virgina ruling in favor of segregation wherein black protestors rode segregated buses and sat in the white area.
  • Civil Rights Act

    An act designed to stop discrimination and enfore the rights of minority citizens
  • Malcom X Assasinated

    Promenant figure in the civil rights movement and founder of the Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU) was assassinated during one of his rallies.
