Herman Talmadge Interview He served as Georgia's seventeeth governor he was elected on Novemeber eleventh, 1941 and his governor career ended on 1955. He was born in McRae in Telfair County in south central Georgia and was also the son of Eugene Talmadge. He graduated from the University of Georgia of Law in 1936. All though he was racist, he did want Georgia to have a bright future and promised industry to be on the way to Georgia.

Governor Ernest Vandiver Jr. was forced to close public schools or to comply with the federal orders so he made the commission to find out/survey the people if they wanted public schools to be closed or be integrated just like how the federal government said to do. When they got they results, it showed us that 60 percent of the people would rather have the schools closed than be integrated. -

SNCC was led by Martin Luther King Jr. They tried to desegregate many thing such as buses called "Freedom Rides."
